There are more than 5 thousand caves known in Slovakia, out of which 44 are declared national nature Monuments and 15 caves are open to public. The Slovak Caves Administration manages the protection of 12 show caves their safe and sustainable use. Other three show caves are in the private administration. there are two caves open for public, belianska Cave and Bad Hole Cave, Dubník opal mines and the complex of the technical monuments in the Salt works in the territory of Prešov region.
