Wooden architecture

The natural conditions in the present area of Prešov Region have been providing timber as the basic and the most widely used construction material for a long time. People have been using it not only to construct simple houses and shelters, but also pompous sacral buildings. Some of these buildings are still preserved in the villages or in open-air museums.
